Microsoft Copilot for Sales (formerly known as Viva Sales) is an enterprise artificial intelligence assistant designed specifically for B2B sellers. It acts as a bridge between the seller's daily productivity tools (like Microsoft Outlook and Teams) and the company's customer relationship management (CRM) systems (such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics 365). It eliminates the bureaucratic and manual work of logging emails and meetings in the CRM, providing AI-generated insights to close deals faster.
How it works
When receiving a client's email in Outlook or participating in a Teams meeting, Copilot for Sales is triggered in the sidebar. The AI reads the conversation, pulls the historical data for that lead saved in Salesforce or Dynamics, and summarizes the deal status. The seller can ask Copilot to generate a personalized response draft containing actual prices and technical details pulled directly from the CRM. During Teams calls, the AI performs real-time transcription and semantic analysis of the objections raised by the client.
